Here’s a good prompt from today’s workshop. Introduce a character by telling what he or she does not like. The effect will be to show what he or she does like. It works.
Just start with ‘I don’t like’ or ‘X doesn’t like’ and see what happens next. I wrote about a disgruntled, disappointed cleaner who found a pair of handcuffs in a desk drawer when the office was empty for the night.
Now I just have to decide what he does with them.
