Something for the weekend #9

The couple in this photograph, sitting back to back, make a great visual writing prompt. But there’s more to this one.

This is a photograph of an art installation in the Saatchi Gallery. You can learn more about it and its creators here:  http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/artists/noble_webster.htm

The figures are made out of junk but lit from just the right angle, they cast these amazingly life-like shadows of the two artists. Amazing! It really speaks to me about the writing process – about how the writer must carefully arrange every word and every sentence, making every letter work towards the big picture goal of the story (in this case the shadow) that the reader experiences. This one is definitely inspiration for the weekend and beyond.

Thanks to bro-in-law Scott for liking this one on Facebook 🙂
