Leave a message after the beep

Today we have had a go at the latest NPR Three Minute Fiction prompt, which is…

Leave a message after the beep. Write an original work of fiction in the form of a voicemail message. 600 word limit.

We also tried out a few of the previous ones from the NPR Three Minute Fiction webpage:

She closed the book, placed it on the table and finally decided to walk through the door.

Have a story where one character comes to town and someone else leaves town.

Write a story where one character tells a joke and another character cries.

Entries for the current prompt are due by February 10th and the winning story will be read on NPR and published in The Paris Review. Nice!
