Really, you have to click on this photograph and peer at it to see just how beautiful it is.
The photograph is by Jon Hill and he says that “This is a highly processed picture of the reflection of a block of flats and railings in the canal near Dane Road in Sale, Manchester. I’ve cropped the picture so it only shows the water, and then flipped it 180 degrees, finally I added a 40% blurred layer over the top which increases the saturation and smooths the whole effect.”
I really like his explanation of the process in its creation. It reminds me that photographs, paintings, stories and novels don’t simply materialise. They develop over time and trial and error. You have to work.
